With a countersunk design, U-Bolt-It flat head screws, deck screws and drywall screws are ideal for applications where debris can accumulate on the surface of products or component materials. These flat-head drywall screws are installed flush with the surface to provide a protective, smooth, finished appearance. Flush mount screws serve as a torque limiter and help prevent overtightening and stripping of internal threads. Since deck screws install flush with surface, they do not catch on things.
Self-drilling and self-tapping screws are widely used in many industries like construction and product assembly. Self-drilling screws have a drill-bit shaped tip to actually drill through mounting materials by creating their own pilot hole and cutting their own threads. By comparison, self-tapping screws used to secure thinner sheet metals and other substrates; but require a punched or pre-drilled pilot hole. Both types of hardened screws cut their own threads.
U-Bolt-It mushroom head screws have a wider, rounded head that protrudes above the surface after attachment of the fastener. The undercut bottom keeps the head height low with a larger bearing surface. Typically, truss head screws have a larger head diameter than pan head screws. Pan head screws are usually have a Phillips-style slotted head with straight sides and are used to secure metal components, such as machinery and automotive parts. By comparison, button head screws like truss head screws curve all the way down to the bottom of the screw head.
